Courtney Love grew up in California, New Zealand and Oregon, ending up in the Pacific Northwest as a punk rocker. In 1989 she co-founded the rock band Hole. In 1992 she married Kurt Cobain of the band Nirvana. After Cobain's death, Hole's second album met with critical and popular success, making Courtney Love a rock star in her own right. She has also appeared in films, and is the subject of intense interest among conspiracy theorists who don't believe Cobain killed himself.
